It’s been a few months since we went on our retreat this spring. We are trying to stay in a good balance between being a warm, comfortable, and peaceful home and being an engaged, active, and expressive mission-oriented organization.
We welcome collaboration so if any of the things below float your boat, let us know if we can work together:

We hosted our anniversary party which was a great way to introduce more people into our history and the model of cooperative group living, and the mini-community land trust aspect of the property here.
We made space for some community organizations to use the house as a space to convene, including the Cambridge-Area Time Trade Circle. This is an organization where people can barter time for services – like trading helping someone with their garden for getting help learning another language. But it’s through a time bank so the helper and helpee are not immediately reciprocal. You help one person, but you receive help from someone else who has gotten help from yet another person – all the hours are tracked like in a bank, online, and quite flexible. It’s cool.
A local city councillor came over for dinner this spring to learn more about group living and to talk about affordable housing.
We’ll keep trying to provide a good community space and to be more neighborly. Let us know if you’d like to come over some time!
